01 How do I view Pencoed House Estate?
We would be delighted to offer a viewing and show you around the Estate, seven days a week subject to availability. Please make an appointment using the contact details on our website or call the Estate office on 02921 678090, and we will be happy to confirm a mutually convenient time.
02 Can I provisionally reserve a date for my wedding?
We do not provisionally reserve dates. Once you are ready to book, we ask for a £1,000 non-refundable and non-transferable booking fee, payable by bank transfer or cheque. The remaining balance is due no later than six months before your event.
03 Is there accommodation on the Estate?
We offer a variety of accommodation, including the Gate House for up to 10 guests and a self-catering cottage for up to eight guests. We also have a Bridal Suite, four Barn Apartments and four Stable Rooms, each accommodating up to two guests. For a unique stay, our luxury pod is nestled within the woodland.
04 Do you provide breakfast?
Our chef can provide a full cooked farmhouse breakfast, continental breakfast and freshly squeezed orange juice. Breakfast may be included within the room tariff, subject to a minimum of 10 guests staying on the Estate.
05 Is there parking at Pencoed House?
We have 25 spaces within the Orchard Car Park, including two accessible spaces. A further 20 spaces are available in our overflow Paddock Car Park for staff and suppliers. We can also accommodate coaches carrying up to 73 guests, including vintage buses and smaller minibuses.
06 Are vehicles allowed to be left overnight?
Vehicles may not be left on the Estate overnight unless they belong to guests staying within our onsite accommodation.
07 Do you recommend a local taxi firm?
Yes. We regularly use Cardiff-based Capital Cabs, who can be contacted on 02920 777 777.
08 What time can we access the accommodation?
The accommodation is available from 3pm. Guests must vacate the accommodation by 10am the following morning.
09 What time do we have access to the venue?
The venue opens at 8am. Decorations, cards and presents must be removed from the Old Hall by midnight. The Pencoed House team will safely store your decorations until they can be collected.
10 What are the minimum and maximum guest numbers for the Old Hall?
For weddings held Monday to Thursday, the minimum number is 60 guests. For Friday, Saturday and Sunday weddings, the minimum is 80 guests, otherwise a surcharge may apply. The maximum daytime capacity is 120 guests, increasing to 200 guests for the evening.
11 Do you allow outside caterers?
Only caterers recommended by Pencoed House Estate may provide catering at the venue. Our approved caterers are Cresta, Pickled Pumpkin and Spiros, with further details available through our website.
12 Can we provide our own evening buffet or cheese tower?
Due to food hygiene standards and regulations, all food must be provided by the approved caterer selected for your wedding breakfast or event.
13 Who supplies the wines and drinks packages?
Pencoed House has a fully licensed Woodland Bar offering wines, champagnes, spirits, lagers, beers and real ales. Drinks may be purchased by the glass or bottle, and bespoke packages can be tailored to each celebration, from cocktails to Laurent-Perrier Champagne.
14 Can we supply alcoholic favours or gifts?
Alcoholic favours or gifts cannot be brought onto the Estate. Suitable options can instead be purchased through the Woodland Bar.
15 Can we supply our own sweet cart or sweet table?
Pencoed House has its own sweet table and sweet cart available to hire, complete with a selection of sweets.
16 What furniture and chairs are included?
Black banqueting chairs, five-foot and six-foot round tables, and long trestle tables for the top table are included within the venue charge. Chiavari chairs, chair covers and sashes can be hired through Pencoed House for an additional charge.
17 Do you allow bands, DJs and choirs?
Yes, subject to their size and suitability. Bands must meet the venue's requirements, including holding appropriate public liability insurance, so please speak with the Pencoed House team before making a booking.
Our in-house DJ can work with you to create your playlist. Choirs are also welcome, although group transport should be arranged where possible to avoid using guest parking spaces.
18 What are the Old Hall window sill dimensions?
There are six window sills within the Old Hall. They may be decorated with flowers and tea lights, provided that the tea lights are placed within suitable holders.

19 Can our photographer visit the venue beforehand?
Yes. Photographers are welcome to visit the Estate beforehand, subject to a mutually convenient appointment being arranged.
20 What are the closing times at Pencoed House?
Live and recorded music in the Old Hall finishes at 11.30pm, with the exception of New Year's Eve. Last orders at the Woodland Bar are at 11.45pm, and the venue closes at midnight.
A licence extension may be available by prior agreement, allowing music until 12.30am and the bar to remain open until 1am. This is subject to availability and an additional charge.
